Hugo Palin

Well, Obama may be a socialist, but Palin turns out the be a communist.  I wish I had known this earlier.

Palin thinks the resources of Alaska belong to the Alaskan people (whoever that might be).  Finally something intelligent from the Republican VP candidate.  She ought really to be palling around with Sr. Chavez.  This is exactly how he views the oil reserves of Venezuela.  Not to say he has used the wealth in a entirely appropriate way, but certainly this makes more sense than allowing some individual to own what we all need to survive.

The resources of the country ought to rightfully belong to the citizens of the country.  It is just a small step from that to something else about the means of production.  Certainly it would make more sense to nationalize the oil industry as to nationalize the banks (or the debt of Jefferson County).  Actually, the latest from our fair city/county makes me think that the time is right for a resurgence of the communist ideal.  Capitalism really has crumbled under its own weight.  It once was that people thought that communism was out of touch with the essentially selfish and lazy nature of humanity.  But now we hear Alan Greenspan explaining that capitalism too is incompatible with human nature.  It turns out that our economic life is not so much different than any other part of our lives.  There are some few political anarchists running around, but way many more economic anarchists (you remember the free market, don’t you).  Those people are becoming fewer every day.

So, point is, Palin got something right.  Now, it would be interesting to see whether the big Oil Companies are better off from the oil in Alaska than are the citizens who actually own the oil being extracted.  If we can discover that, we will be able to tell just how close Palin is to her cohort Chavez.  And we can stop worrying about Obama supposed socialist leanings.

If State is taking care of citizens, providing them health care, better public schooling, more unemployment funds then whats wrong with “Socialist”.
