Okay, I want to start a thread here about Democracy or maybe I mean democracy.  You know government by the people . . .

There are a couple of problematic things about democracy for me. Sometimes I have conversations with people who are trying to defend democracy, and I can't help but think that if we really lived in a democracy, we wouldn't be having that conversation, or, we would be having it in jail. Second thing is something that is mentioned in Michael Moore's movie "Sicko". There is someone in Europe or England, or somewhere, and he says "Of course we have universal healthcare. We're a democracy!" or something like that. So, second question, and to me this is actually more serious than the first, what good is democracy, if you think that there is no role for government in the ordinary lives of citizens.
