There’s Something Really Rich…
...about a convention where delegates hold signs saying “Country First” while nominating a lady whose husband was a member of a fringe secessionist group.
...about speakers who decry the elite before an audience that is the least diverse convention delegation in modern history.
...about proposing to end partisan rancor and division, then handing the microphone to a succession of red-meat speakers.
...about the Republican nominee calling for change when his party has been calling the shots for the last eight years.
...listening to Palin claim the mantle of reform when she herself is under investigation for misusing her office in a personal vendetta.
The Republican script for this election heretofore was “experience”. There’s little wonder what their internal polling must’ve been telling them to toss that aside.

and what about Cindy McCain, saying that we could solve all our problems if only the Federal Government would get out of the way . . . and then recognizing Abraham Lincoln as the great Republican. on 09/05 at 11:57 PM

Seeing that “Country First” theme for the convention reminded me of the old Steve Martin skit. “COUNTRY FIRST”!! That’s right, we ALWAYS put COUNTRY FIRST!! Well, maybe Halliburton.....then COUNTRY FIRST!! Yes, we always put COUNTRY FIRST because we believe in COUNTRY FIRST!! Well, except for Exxon. Exxon, Halliburton......then COUNTRY FIRST!! That’s right!!Exxon, Halliburton, COUNTRY FIRST!! Uh, COUNTRY FIRST, except for Fannie Mae. Fannie Mae, Exxon, Halliburton....THEN COUNTRY FIRST!!… You get the drift...I’m no Steve Martin but that COUNTRY FIRST issue is WAYYY down the GOP proirity list. Just an opinion there based on many yrs of action on t heir part. on 09/06 at 09:32 AM

Abraham Lincoln, whose highest, most single-minded priority was to preserve the Union, being quoted by a woman who addresses the convention of a fringe group of Alaskan secessionists, and whose husband was/is a member. “One Country” indeed! on 09/06 at 09:35 AM
